A Beautiful Sixteen Year Old Bride - 1930's Wedding Fashion

Was it ever fashionable to marry at an early age.  This beautiful sixteen year old bride is my grandmother Mary.  This was no shotgun wedding, just look at the detail in her dress, wedding cape, veil and flowers.
My grandfather Charles was 23.  You may wonder if she were pregnant but they did not have their first child for another four years.  Mary outlived Charles by only 11 years due to a heart attack.  The killer was lard.  She used it in everything, and got used to using it during the depression when they handed it out with a packet of yellow food coloring and called it a butter substitute.  She was an angel, never complained, always kind.  I loved my Nana.
